What is a good adhesive remover?

need to take some stickers off a motorcycleWhat is a good adhesive remover?
there are comercial products for this, I use IPA (rubbing alcohol) usually though it works wellWhat is a good adhesive remover?
First use a little oil will break down the adhesive and then wash it off with a solvent ,like paint thinner.
There's a good commercial product for this, called Goof-off. You can get it in different formulations depending on what kind of ';goof'; you want to remove (tar, gum, ink, glue, etc) You can find it in hardware or department stores.

If you'd prefer to try what you may have on hand, try kerosene, nail polish remover (acetone), or rubbing alchohol (isopropyl). Depending on the type of adhesive, one or more of these should work.
Lighter fluid is good if you can't find one of the commercial sticky-stuff-remover fluids.

Alcohol or nail polish remover could attack the enamel on the motorcycle, but lighter fluid won't. I got this tip from a guy in a second-hand shop who was always having to strip off lot number stickers when he had bought something at an auction.
