Is there any safe adhesive removers for the screen of a touch-screen camera?

Goo Gone - the stuff won't harm the surface and does a fantastic job of removing adhesives and other sticky substances. Once all the adhesive is removed, use a small damp cloth to remove any of the remaining Goo Gone residue and your screen should be good as new.Is there any safe adhesive removers for the screen of a touch-screen camera?
You could try some vegetable oil on a Q-tip. Very small amount. Let it sit then wipe it.

'Oops!' brand cleaner has never damaged my iPod or Nintendo DS screen, just put a small amount on a paper towel and rub gently.

Test it first, though, in a corner, but you should be okay.

Adhesive remover for closed envelopes?

My sister is getting a wee-bit freaked out over the fact that there's a date mistake on her wedding invitations. She's already sealed like 100 of them and wants to keep the engraved envelopes (which are pretty expensive apparently).

Is there a solvent or other thing out there made to remove envelope adhesives in a manner that keeps them a) intact and b) reusable.

Million thanks in advanceAdhesive remover for closed envelopes?
I did a similar thing by addressing the un-adhesive ';inside envelope'; of the invitation and not having enough outside envelops to re-address them. If you can get the envelope open, I used a glue stick and ran it along the flap to restick it. Worked even better than using the lickable adhesive.

I came across this method just now: I have never tried it -- you may want to practice on an envelope first. Make sure the ink won't melt off, also!!

';Take a kettle, or a small pot and boil water till it starts steaming to its maximum. Take the envelope, and flap/adhesive side down, place it over the steam for a couple of seconds (15-30). Be very gentle, as the paper will be moist and delicate. Check if the adhesive is melting; if it has melted, then you must be quick to pry it open gently with your fingers or a hot knife, steamed in the same way (try not to use a cold knife, as it would cool the adhesive back again). Once pryed open, gently slip the contents out and view/edit/whatever. Wait for the envelope to cool/dry before slipping them back in: If the envelope's paper/or contents become wrinkly after drying, use an iron on LOW to smooth back out again, omitting the adhesive and being careful not to burn anything. Once back in shape and dry, slip the contents in and re-lick (or, if you fear that someone will test the saliva DNA from the envelope) use a small dab of glue to secure once more.';Adhesive remover for closed envelopes?
I can't believe that this question is being asked.

The answer is............STEAM!!!
Water.

The old-fashioned was was to ';steam'; them open, but invariably it leaves the envelop wrinkled - though you might be able to iron them flat with a not-too-hot flat iron.

You can also lightly sponge the paper right over the glue strip, and after a minute or two, the water soaks through and softens the glue. Try the whole process, including ironing the wrinkles out if they don't come out on their own. Also, if you do it on an extra invitation, you can then open it afterwards and verify that it hasn't messed up the invitation - like melted some fancy ink and stuck the pages together, etc.

This is, of course, assuming the envelopes are the old ';lick'; type with water-soluble glue. All bets are off if it's the self-stick pressure-sensitive adhesive.
stick it in the microwave. I forget how long, maybe a few seconds to half a minute I would guess. I've done it and it does work with a minimum of ';wrinkling';.

Poor thing.

How to get tile adhesive off the bottom of my tub... nail polish remover is NOT working. ?

if your tub finish is porcelain, you can use a putty knife to scrape or chip it off. if you scratch the tub finish, get a pumice stone and clear the scratches off by wet rubbing with stone and rinsing clean. may have to find pumice stone at hardware or actual plumbing supply. works on any porcelain ( toilets, sinks, tubs, etc.)How to get tile adhesive off the bottom of my tub... nail polish remover is NOT working. ?
If it is a cast iron tub, you could try nail polish remover or a liquid paint stripper, you could also try a heat gun. If it is a steel or fiberglass tub you can try to use a putty knife, but I suspect that you will damage the tub surfaces. Anything you do should be tested in a small area to see if it works and how much damage is causesHow to get tile adhesive off the bottom of my tub... nail polish remover is NOT working. ?
If it's sticky... simple vegetable oil, or even something oily like peanut butter or mayonnaise will do the trick without damaging your tub.

If it's dried, you may have to gently chip it off, without damaging the tub.
Goof off is great stuff. Lighter fluid works well for adhesive also.
Get some paint thinner, it'll work wonders! ;) Or, if you can't get ahold of that, try goo gone.
try lacquer thinner, just make sure the room is well vented

How do I remove spirit gum adhesive using common household procducts when I don't have a commercial remover?

Try some nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol.=)How do I remove spirit gum adhesive using common household procducts when I don't have a commercial remover?
I'm not sure what spirit gum adhesive is but peanut butter will remove a lot of adhesives. I use it to remove the sticky residue from price labels or things from garage sales:) Just put some on a paper towel and rub it into the adhesive and it usually wipes right off.How do I remove spirit gum adhesive using common household procducts when I don't have a commercial remover?
Any type of veggie oil will remove pretty much anything sticky and the oil is easily removed with dish soap.
It might be worth giving ';Sticky Stuff Remover'; a try from Kleen Easy.
Try WD 40 spray.

Goo-Gone, I use it all the time on dust jackets of books that I sell on eBay. Often times stores have put sticky labels or tape on the dust jacket which is glossy like a magazine and I have to remove them before selling. The trick is don't leave it on a long time apply (spray) and wipe off quickly.

  • Can you use nail polish remover to take the band-aid adhesive off of someone's skin?

The *nurse* at my (5-year-old) son's pediatrician's office told me to use nail polish remover to get the sticky leftover adhesive from a band-aid off of my son's skin. This does not sound safe or healthy to me. Could some healthcare professionals confirm for me if this is right or not? Actually I would appreciate anyone's imput. I've never heard of that before. Thank you for your help!!!Can you use nail polish remover to take the band-aid adhesive off of someone's skin?
it probably wouldn't hurt, i mean you get it on your hands and fingers, and it would probably work.... use baby oil, or an oily lotion on a cotton ball... i work in the medical field and that's what I always recommend and patients tell me it works fine, and it's gentle on their skin. Can you use nail polish remover to take the band-aid adhesive off of someone's skin?
It may work, my family has always used baby oil and a q-tip, then you wash the oil off with soap and water.
Try using alcohol - that is what I do .
Soap gets almost everything off, in my experience. To be honest, if you just ignore the leftover adhesive then it will disappear in no time. It's a bit like when people write on their hands to remember things... the messages disappear after a day or two of normal washing, without special attention.
I have always used nail polish remover for myself and my children. If it concerns you, be sure to wash the area with soap afterwards.......
Yes, its accurate. You can use nail polish remover or rubbing alcohal. It doesnt hurt unless you get it in his cut.

    Glue/adhesive remover?

I got some glue on my car and i need to know what will remove the glue without damaging the paintGlue/adhesive remover?
I herd that lemon juice will. But if not i would get some tar remover and try that.Glue/adhesive remover?
go to the harware store and get a can of acetone and rub real careful, it will remove anything I use it on my show truck all the time, but make sure you clean it all off it evaporates quickly and will eat the gloss coat off, if it does take turtle wax over it n it will restore the finish
Off the cuff, try some ';bug and tar'; remover available at the auto parts store. The glue company maker might also have a website and technical hotline to contact for advise.

What is a good adhesive remover?

need to take some stickers off a motorcycleWhat is a good adhesive remover?
there are comercial products for this, I use IPA (rubbing alcohol) usually though it works wellWhat is a good adhesive remover?
First use a little oil will break down the adhesive and then wash it off with a solvent ,like paint thinner.
There's a good commercial product for this, called Goof-off. You can get it in different formulations depending on what kind of ';goof'; you want to remove (tar, gum, ink, glue, etc) You can find it in hardware or department stores.

If you'd prefer to try what you may have on hand, try kerosene, nail polish remover (acetone), or rubbing alchohol (isopropyl). Depending on the type of adhesive, one or more of these should work.
Lighter fluid is good if you can't find one of the commercial sticky-stuff-remover fluids.

Alcohol or nail polish remover could attack the enamel on the motorcycle, but lighter fluid won't. I got this tip from a guy in a second-hand shop who was always having to strip off lot number stickers when he had bought something at an auction.

An adhesive remover would be anything that removes the ';sticky'; residue left by a price tag, tape, label etc. on a product of some kind. The adhesive remover is usually similar to ';lighter fluid'; or rubbing alcohol. There are products sold especially made for removing adhesive. What are adhesive remover ?
Hi, Adhesive Remover removes sticky stuff such as chewing gum, grease, tar, residue from stickers and labels from a variety of materials.

Here are some reviews on a variety of adhesive removers http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8%26amp;鈥?/a> Hope this helps.
Simple drugstore nail polish remover works on most (buy not all) things for me. Make sure you don't rub or scrub too hard with anything as it can damage your surface. A paper towel, facial tissue or plain cotton to wipe the goo off with should work.

This can save lot's of money sometimes... as it can be cheaper that specialty goods. Don't get a name brand, get a generic ';Walgreen's'; type of brand.
Goo Gone works excellent, removes adhesive/stickers, tape, glue, wax, tree sap...

    Alternative Wallpaper Adhesive Remover?

I just peeled off a wallpaper from a wooden cabinet. Now I'm left with a sticky mess. The cabinet looks really nice, but has the leftover wallpaper adhesive all over it. Since the object it is on is wooden, sanding it down isn't an option. I don't have the time, or the money for that matter to buy commercial grade adhesive removers. What liquid can I use as an adhesive removing alternative that won't damage the wood and will take off the glue with some rubbing/scrubbing.Alternative Wallpaper Adhesive Remover?
Make up a mixture of fabric softener and water....soak the wood with the mixture and then it should come right off. You may have to repeat the process a few times but it will work.Alternative Wallpaper Adhesive Remover?
Most wallpaper adheasive is water based.

  • Is there a PLASTIC PIPE ADHESIVE remover?

nope sorry. once its on it creates a chemical bond/seal that cant be removed. cut it out and put in a coupler. thats the best and easiest thing to do.

if u have the glue on something else try goof off or mineral spirits to loosten it up. u may need to use a little elbow greaseIs there a PLASTIC PIPE ADHESIVE remover?
laquor thinner may do it. sand paper will for sureIs there a PLASTIC PIPE ADHESIVE remover?
PVC Cement and ABS Cement are just the resin of the polymer that you want to connect dissolved in a mixture of Acetone, MEK and a few other solvents, so to redissolve the adhesive you would apply a mixture of Acetone and Methyl Ethyl Ketone to it and wait for it to soften, then scrape away any that is partially dissolved and reapply. If you are trying to seperate a joint in the pipe, don't bother, it won't work. But, this is a perfect solution if you did something like drip the adhesive onto a countertop or onto the floor. If this is the case I would recomend scraping away all you can without damaging the underlying surface, then apply the solvent and scrape the drip and continue until you have a clean surface. Just be careful about the surface that you are cleaning it off of, if it is a solid-surface countertop, Corian etc., the solvents might damage the underlying surface, so test the solvent in an inconspicuos location first.

I have also hear steam, but it has not been that successful for me. I still had to kind of mutilate the envelope to get it open. Try a dry iron on the sealed part with a thin cloth in between, not too hot. I have also heard putting the envelope in the freezer for a while until the glue hardens will work. Whatever you do, experiment with EXTRA envelopes first.

Alas, let this be a lesson, sealing the envelopes should be the very last thing you do when sending a large number of invitations or anything for that matter...right before you take them to mail, even after the stamps.Adhesive remover for sealed envelopes?
Steam from like an iron or however you can shoot steam up on the sealed part of the envelope, it will make it come open without damaging the envelope.
Steam! You can also use the tea kettle.
Yep, I heard that steam works too.

    Adhesive screw head remover?

Hi, i'm trying to remove a small (3mm diameter) philips head screw from a cell phone i'm trying to re-house. I remember hearing a few years ago about a material that acts like a glue between a screw driver and a screw, something along the lines of putting a bit of this adhesive stuff on the head of the screw, putting the screw driver in this stuff, and an amount of time later the screw driver is stuck to the screw head and you're able to unscrew the screw easily enough. Anyone know if this stuff is real, or if so what's it called ?

Or would any metal to metal super glue do the same job ?

Thanks for the help.Adhesive screw head remover?
Don't use gorilla glue as it sort of expands as it dries and will glue your screwdriver to the phone as well. Just try the super glueAdhesive screw head remover?
I would say you could use regular super glue, I would use the gel kind. Or there is this other glue called Gorilla Glue. Both would work fine. Just a dab, that way you can remove screwdriver from screw after it is reinserted.

Their is also a product called De-Solv-it. It is a professional strength solvent. It is safe to use on cured paint, wood, metal and works very well to release bumper stickers. I get mine at my local ACE Hardware store.
We use Orange Peel multi-purpose solvent to remove decals %26amp; adhesives from the decals. Simply spray some onto a clean cloth or towl and wipe away. This works the best as we have used it over and over.

    Hope this was helpful!

Anybody have experience with ';Henry Easy Release Adhesive Remover'; from LOWES?

I';m trying to remove thick layer of carpet glue from concrete slab in order to prepare the slab for either painting or staining. They sell this stuff at Lowes and claim 1 quart yields 1.25 gallons of mixed product. They further claim that it will cover approximately 6 square yards. If it works, it is by far the cheapest solution for removing carpet glue. Anybody know anything about it?Anybody have experience with ';Henry Easy Release Adhesive Remover'; from LOWES?
Yes i have years of experience of removal of glued down carpets. Not the cheapest method but it is the fastest. Scraping the glue off is the cheapest but time consuming. If it is not a Hugh area then this would be your cheapest method of removal. If you don`t have the time and want it done fast then the Henry adhesive remover is a good and fast way to remove the glue. But it can be real messy.

What's the best granite backsplash adhesive remover?

I removed my granite backsplash because I moved the wall behind it. Now I want to clean off the old adhesive and reapply the backsplash to the new wall. What is the best adhesive remover? What's the best granite backsplash adhesive remover?
The adhesive use in granite/engineered stone dries virtually as hard as the rock it is applied to.

You may have some success trying to carefully ';chisel'; the adhesive off, using a very steep angle.

I doubt you will get it all. Be warned....Granite is very easy to crack/break.

What remains, you could remove with a angle grinder. That should get the surface flat enough for re-installation.(maybe you could use the angle grinder for the entire epoxy removal)

This operation will be dusty....have someone stand by with the shop-vac to get as much of the dust as you can. What's the best granite backsplash adhesive remover?
My son, who works for a master carpenter who does antique home restoration and specializes in bringing kitchens up to date in those old homes said: ';sometimes, depending on the adhesive, you can slowly heat it up with a heat gun and chisel the adhesive away, but you have to fo this on a solid flat surface and have adequate ventilation and wear a resporator due to toxic fumes';.
Most granite is attached with an extremely strong glue, sometimes even with a thin set and its almost impossible to remove this. You may have to replace the dry wall to get it ready to reapply another back splash.

Goo gone is nothing but denatured alcohol..which will only cut latex based glues..if it is oil based glue..then goo gone will make more of a mess for you...Paint thinner will gum up water based glues..and will cut only solvent made glues..You need to ask the manufacturer what based adheisive they used on these tiles..for one to actually give you what product you use for removal...denatured alcohol if it is a latex glue..and wd 40 if it is a solvent based glue..wd 40 will work better than mineral spirits on solvent based..
